Are you having trouble coming up with how to spend Valentine’s Day with your significant other? If so, I’ve got you covered with a list of 17 cute and romantic Valentine’s Day date ideas.
Whether you are looking to stay home or get out, there are a ton of date ideas that fit into both of those categories, and all of them are fun and enjoyable!
1. Virtual Cooking Class
If you are willing to spend a little bit of money for your Valentine’s Day date night, then a cooking class is the perfect thing! Whether you are new to cooking or are a professional in the kitchen, virtual cooking classes are always such a blast! If you don’t know where to find cooking classes, Sur la table and Masterclass are both excellent options!
2. Truth or Dare
Whether you have just started dating, have been together for a while, or are married, there is always something more to learn about your partner. Either that or daring them to do something funny. Either way, this game is a ton of fun and the perfect way to really get to know your partner!
3. Classic Dinner and a Movie
You can never go wrong with a nice homemade dinner and a movie. Find a yummy and easy to follow dinner recipe from Pinterest or choose your favorite recipe based on dishes you have already made. Then, pick out a movie both you and your significant other will love (this could be one you have already watched before or something completely new). Either way, this date night idea is fun, something you can do in the comfort of your own home, and something that is quite affordable!
4. Take a Ride Down Memory Lane
Whether it’s pulling out old photo albums, visiting a place that played an important role in your or your partner’s childhood, or remaking a fun and memorable date night from the past, taking a trip down memory lane is always a fun adventure. Let the nostalgia begin!
5. Rent an Airbnb
Change it up by renting out an Airbnb for a night or two. From tiny houses to treehouses, the possibilities are endless when it comes to renting out an Airbnb. In addition to choosing what type of place you will stay in, choosing your location is just as fun (you can make it a staycation or a mini-vacation). This date idea can get pricey, but it will give you a great and memorable experience!
6. Go Camping
Camping is always a great option. Whether it is out in the wilderness, just in your backyard, or even in your living room, there is no doubt that you can make a fun night camping. Snuggle up in your sleeping bags, make some smores, and watch your favorite movie. If that’s not fun, I don’t know what is!
7. At Home Cook-Off
If you are okay with a small mess, home cook-offs might be the most fun and hilarious thing you could do at home. Between a time limit and a specific dish you have to make, there is no telling what will happen. If you really want to go all out, you can record yourselves to send to your friends and family, or simply keep for a fun memory. Whatever you decide to do, there is bound to be a whole lot of laughter!
8. Learn a New Hobby Together
Learning a new hobby with your partner is a great way to spend Valentine’s Day. Not only will you get to try something new (potentially something you and your partner will love), but you will likely have fun and get a couple of laughs out of it as you try to figure out what you’re doing.
9. Have a Car Picknick
What is more romantic than having a yummy picnic in your car? Okay, I was kind of kidding, but you could really make it romantic. Make or pick up your significant other’s favorite dinner and drive to your favorite spot to watch the sunset. Cuddle up with some blankets, and when it gets dark, put on this virtual fireplace. That’s a great date night!
10. Couples Yoga
Couples yoga is such a fun way to spend the day (or night) with your significant other. Test each other’s flexibility with unique and challenging poses that you make up along the way, or take a virtual class. Maybe invite your friends and make your own virtual yoga class. Even if you don’t know what the heck you’re doing, you’ll still have fun.
11. Watch Home Videos Together
Can you really go wrong with curling up on the couch and revisiting your past by watching home videos? These videos could be from each other’s childhood or even some clips you took from your journey together so far. This idea honestly might be one of my favorites. I know I love to watch videos with my family of me and my brother from when we were younger. So much fun!
12. Create a Scavenger Hunt of Important Places
Create a scavenger hunt for your significant other and incorporate important places that hold meaning. These places could be in your home, in your community, or wherever it is that is special. When you get to each location, try to remind your partner why each location is important and what significance it holds that has brought you closer together. A meaningful scavenger hunt will surely make a romantic day or night!
13. Go for a Hike (just the two of you)
If you and your significant other love the great outdoors and being in nature, a hike might just be the thing to make your Valentine’s Day special. You can keep it to just a hike, or you can add on lunch or breakfast afterward. I don’t know about you, but food motivates me, haha.
14. Drive Through Movies
While you might not be able to go to the movie theatres this year, drive through movies are a great alternative. Once you have found a drive-in movie near you, pack some blankets, pillows, and snacks and you’re ready to go. Enjoy your night and get cozy!
15. Virtual Game Night
Contact some friends, family, or both and put together a virtual game night. I have done this several times with my friends and family, and it is always a great time! Some games are easier than others to play while on zoom, so here are a couple of suggestions for where to find them:
16. Plan Your Next Vacation
Planning a vacation will not only be extremely fun but something for you and your partner to look forward to. So start brainstorming where your vacation will take place, where you will stay, what you will do when you’re there, and what restaurants you really want to try.
17. Movie Marathon
While this idea is simple, it is also super fun and would make an amazing date night. You can pick a movie series such as Star Wars or pick a bunch of individual movies. Whatever you decide on will be great, because let’s be honest, lounging on the couch watching your favorite movies with one of the people you love most in the world is not such a bad way to spend Valentine’s Day.
