The Perfect Valentines Gift Basket Ideas for Every Type of Valentine (Even the Hard-to-Shop-For One)

All Posts, Gift Guides, Holiday, What to buy

Need help creating the perfect Valentines gift basket? Here are the best Valentines gift basket ideas that are so cute you’ll want to keep one for yourself.

valentines gift basket ideas

Valentine’s Day is one of those holidays that just calls for a gift basket! They’re always so much fun to make… and such a fun surprise to receive. It’s also a great route to go if you have no idea what to get them for Valentine’s Day.

I’ve always found that it’s quite a bit easier finding smaller goodies to go in a gift basket than finding one or two “bigger” presents. It’s kind of like a “cheat code” to creating the perfect Valentine’s gift! Not to mention, gift baskets always feel super thoughtful, even if it’s just something you scrambled to put together last minute. 🤫

So whether you’re looking for Valentine’s Day gift basket inspiration, or you desperately need help with what to put in his or her basket – I’ve got your back!

This post goes over all of the best Valentines gift basket ideas from Valentines gift basket ideas for women, Valentines gift basket ideas for him, Valentines gift basket ideas for friends, and more.

But before we get into the nitty gritty of putting together the actual Valentine’s gift basket, here are a few things to keep in mind…

Items That Belong in a Good Valentine’s Day Basket:

COPY THIS BASKET

Depending on who you’re giving a Valentines gift basket to, you might already have a pretty good idea of what you want to put in it, especially if you know the person super well.

But if you’re looking for a little guidance, here are some items that will help you create a well-balanced gift basket to give to your loved ones:

1. Chocolate/Candy

Some kind of chocolate or candy is a no-brainer – especially when it comes to Valentine’s Day! This shouldn’t be too hard either since stores are gearing up for the holiday by bringing out a lot of special chocolate assortments and candy centered around Valentine’s Day.

2. Valentine’s Themed Items

It’s always fun to include some Valentine’s Day themed items in their basket, just to make it feel a little more appropriate for the holiday. 😉

It can also make building your basket WAY easier. For example, if you’re trying to create a pink or red themed basket, there are a ton of gift options that fit those color schemes since they’re already such a big part of the holiday.

3. Something Personal

This is not a mandatory step, but it’s always fun to add a personal touch to their gift basket. This also does not have to be something you DIY or create yourself.

Maybe the person you’re giving your basket to loves pigs, so you add in a little pig stuffed animal or keychain to show them how well you know them.

It could be something super small and simple, but it’s the thought that counts!

4. Something Useful

Never shy away from adding useful items to their gift basket. I know a lot of people want to steer clear of everyday items so the gift basket doesn’t end up being a toiletry stock up, but adding a few practical items here and there will help give their basket balance.

Tips for Putting Together the Perfect Valentines Day Basket:

1. Choose a Color Scheme

With a lot of the previous gift basket posts I’ve made, I would always suggest choosing a theme. But since Valentine’s Day has a pretty clear theme to the holiday already, it’s much easier to choose a color scheme.

This doesn’t mean everything in the basket has to fit one exact color. But when you’re choosing items for their basket, try to make it look cohesive. This isn’t a must-do step, but presentation wise, it always looks nice when every item in their basket is intentional.

2. Gift them a Variety of Items

Now, when I say gift them a variety of items, I don’t mean spend a ridiculous amount of money trying to fill up the basket with a bunch of stuff. Just be mindful of what category of items you’re choosing.

For example, if I already got a blush and a lip gloss to go in a gift basket for my best friend, I’m going to try to keep the rest of the items outside of the “makeup” category so she’s not receiving a basket full of makeup.

I mean I don’t think she would complain either way, but it’s still nice when there is some diversity.

3. Add Fun Finishing Touches

Get a little creative with putting fun touches on their basket. Maybe add a ribbon around their basket to make it look like a gift, or add a fun Valentine’s Day gift tag. Maybe even put some pink or red crinkle paper in the basket to give it a pop of color (also a great hack for making it feel more structured and full).

Okay, now that we’ve covered the basics, it’s time for the fun part: building the perfect Valentines gift basket! Below you’ll find some ideas of what to include in their gift basket, depending on who you’re giving it to.

At the least, these ideas will help get your creative juices flowing and serve as inspiration for putting together your own basket. 🙂

This post is all about the best Valentines gift basket ideas that everyone will love.

Best Valentines Gift Basket Ideas:

1. Valentines Gift Basket for Girlfriend

Pocket Blush: Every girl loves this blush! Between how nicely it blends out, to the beautiful shades it comes in, there is a reason this blush has a cult following. This will become a staple in her makeup bag if it isn’t already!

Revitalizing Hand Sanitizer: If there is one hand sanitizer that will actually leave your hands hydrating after using it, it’s this one. There is no weird residue, just the subtle scent of roses. This will live in her purse 24/7!

Press-On Nails: Press on nails are so darn convenient! For one, she doesn’t have to carve out a huge chunk of her day to go get them done. And for two, they can last just as long as they would if she went to a salon to get them done. Plus the polka dot pattern is just too perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Chocolate Covered Pretzels: I have yet to meet a single person who doesn’t love chocolate covered pretzels! Don’t be surprised if she finishes the bag in one setting (who can blame her!).

Skims Tank Top: These are the best tank tops! They’re comfortable enough to wear around the house, but they’re cute enough to wear out too. Spoiler alert – she’l probably want it in more colors! 🤭

Lightly Toasted Insulated Water Bottle: I don’t think anyone can have too many water bottles. Especially not when there are so many cute color combinations to choose from! This one in particular will become her new go-to to keep her hydrated while she’s on the go. And the best part – it won’t spill in her bag (such a life saver!).

Woven Basket: She will have no problem finding a use for this basket in her room! It’s just the right size to hold all of her gift basket items, while also being decorative enough to where she will definitely want to reuse it for a cute and convenient storage option.

Collagen Overnight Mask: If there is one mask that will completely change her skincare routine, it’s this one. This is actually one she should sleep in overnight (once it dries down she’ll hardly notice it’s there) to wake up with glowy glass skin. So good!

Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramels: I feel like this one is pretty self-explanatory. Dark chocolate and sea salt caramel has to be one of the best combinations – and the perfect thing to satisfy her sweet tooth!

Tinted Lip Serum: The best lip products are ones that feel like a hydrating balm, but look like a lip gloss. That way her lips are being take care of while she’s rocking a cute lip combo. This tinted lip serum definitely deserves a spot in her makeup bag!

Mini Dried Flower Bouquet: Unlike your regular flower bouquets, these ones actually last so she can enjoy the beauty for longer! Even if she didn’t explicitly ask for it, this is what she wants to receive for Valentine’s Day. You can thank me later. 😉

2. Valentines Gift Basket for Boyfriend

Knit Beanie: While it’s still cold out, he could use a beanie to give him an extra layer of warmth while he’s out and about. This neutral color will match with any and every outfit!

Insulated Rambler: These ramblers will actually keep his drink cold so he can enjoy it for longer without worrying about it getting lukewarm. They’re also small enough to travel with!

Oversized Plush Sweatshirt: He can really never have too many sweatshirts! And this one is going to turn into a staple in his wardrobe. This is also definitely one you’ll want to “borrow.” It’s a win-win! 😉

Barrel Bourbon Deodorant: Don’t hesitate to help him restock on his essentials! Nothing is better than a clean smelling deodorant that will keep him feeling fresh all day long.

Mini Body Wash: This will easily become his new favorite body wash! It’s so good for lathering and getting that clean feel without striping the skin and leaving it feeling dehydrated. Minis are also such a great way for him to try out new products before committing to the full size.

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups: Dark chocolate and peanut butter is to die for! Next time he’s craving something sweet, he’ll be reaching for these!

Woven Basket: A medium sized basket is something he’ll have no problem finding a use for. Got to love a good storage solution!

Cocktail Mix Box: This cocktail mix has everything he needs to embrace his bar tending skills and whip up a homemade cocktail! These are so much fun to receive, and even more fun to make.

Dark Chocolate Brownie Mix: Including a baking mix is always a good idea! It’ll give the two of you something to do, and you’ll be left with a delicious choclately dessert to enjoy. And who doesn’t love brownies?

Stuffed Peanut: Since you can’t always be with him, this peanut will remind him of you and bring a smile to his face every time he looks at it. It’s the perfect thing to keep him company until you see him next. 🙂

Bourbon Candy Bento Box: This is one way to keep candy interesting! It’s a little more sophisticated than your average candy box… and perfect for the special occasion.

Knit Clog Slippers: He could definitely use a pair of slippers to keep him warm and cozy while lounging around the house. He’ll never want to take these off!

Coconut Candle: The smell of this candle will instantly put him at ease! It’s one of those candles that you never get tired of… because the scent is that good!

3. Valentines Gift Basket for Friends

valentines gift basket ideas for women

Blush Bunny Keychain: This might just be the cutest keychain! When she feels like sprucing up her bag and taking a little companion with her on the go, she’ll have the perfect solution!

Silk Scrunchies: Every girl needs a set of silk scrunchies! They’re so much more comfortable than regular hair ties and won’t leave any creases.

Chocolate and Caramel Pretzel Clusters: Pretzel clusters always hit the spot! They’re a great snack when she’s craving something on the sweeter side, but still wants something a little salty and savory. It’s the best of both worlds!

Fluffy Socks: Fuzzy socks are such a great addition to any gift basket – because you know how much they’ll use a good pair of fuzzy socks.

Bow Gift Basket: The basket itself makes this gift 100x cuter! And it will definitely give you bonus points for presentation. You know you’ve done a good job when the basket matches with the goodies inside and makes it look like you put a ton of effort into making everything look super intentional.

Tinted Peptide Lip Balm: Every girl is obsessed with this tinted lip balm! So stalking her up on her favorite shade or gifting her a new one to try will definitely get her excited.

Makeup Sponge Pack: This little set has all of the different makeup sponges she could need to complete a flawless makeup look! And it fits perfectly into the pink Valentine’s theme of this basket.

Salt Water Vanilla Body Wash: This body wash smells too good! And you’ll be doing your friend a major favor by introducing this scent into her life (it will quickly become a shower staple).

Bow Wine Glasses: These wine glasses were made for girls night! Next time the two of you debrief or have a wine night (or do both haha), you know exactly which glasses she’ll be reaching for.

4. Valentines Gift Basket for Teen Girl

valentines gift basket ideas for friends

Dark Cherry Insulated Water Bottle: A good water bottle that looks cute, but will also fit nicely into her school bag is such a staple for any teen girl! And more importantly, it won’t spill no matter how many times she throws her bag around.

Cherry Vanilla Truffles: If she’s more of a vanilla girl than a chocolate girl, she will love these truffles! They’re so yummy, and something that will instantly satisfy her sweet tooth.

Blemish Patches: Giving her some blemish patches in her basket will be a total life saver! Even though she may not explicitly ask for them, this is something she’ll be so glad to have on hand.

Lip Softening Balm: She might already have a collection of different lip balms going, but this one will be a standout! It’s a lip treatment and a lip gloss all in one, so she doesn’t have to compromise hydrated lips for a cute lip combo.

Heart Stud Earrings: Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to gift her a pair of adorable heart earrings. And even though they look stunning, they won’t break the bank. 😉

Cherry Blossoms LEGO Set: This is something she’ll have a ton of fun building, and can display in her room when she’s done. And there is no maintenance required to keep these flowers looking pretty and perfect all year round!

Pink Scalloped Basket: She’ll have no problem finding a use for this basket. Whether she sticks it in her closet for extra storage, or turns it into a supplies or makeup holder on her desk, you can be sure this basket will have a spot in her room.

Swedish Candy Pack: There’s regular candy, and then there is Swedish candy. Don’t ask me why, but Swedish candy will always take first place. And if she didn’t know that already, she’ll tell you herself after trying these!

Raspberry Fig Bars: A healthier snack to balance out all of the sweets in her basket. 🤭 These are such a great snack to keep her fueled during a long day!

Beige Petal Bunny: She will obsess over this bunny! And honestly who wouldn’t? A stuffed animal this precious will earn a front and center spot on her bed. 🙂

5. Valentines Gift Basket for Teen Boy

valentines gift basket ideas for him

Pecan Caramel Clusters: These are insanely addicting! These might not last very long in the pantry, but that’s how you know you did a good job.

Plush Basketball Pillows: These would make for the coolest decor in his room. It’s hard to find decorative pillows that a teen boy will approve of, but these ones will definitely get the pass!

Neutral Sock Pack: I don’t know what it is about teen boys, but they go through socks fast! So giving him a pair of neutral socks in his basket is always a good idea, and something you know he’ll get a ton of use out of.

Woven Stretch Belt: This is such a great belt for the teen guys. It doesn’t look too fancy, so it will match with his more casual outfits, and it has a more stretchy material that is actually comfortable.

Cushioned Slides: Cushioned slides are like slippers for teen boys. When it comes to sports, these will be their ride or dies when they want something comfortable to wear to and from practices. You’ll see him wearing these almost as much as any other shoe in his closet.

Natural Soap Bar: This soap smells so good that he won’t even want (or need) to wear cologne – especially because the scent actually lasts. This will keep him smelling good, even through his longer school days.

Hydrating Hand Sanitizer: This is something a teen boy wouldn’t think to ask for, so you kinda just have to do him the favor by getting it for him anyways. Because if there is one kind of person who actually needs a good hand sanitizer, it’s a teen boy!

Fluffy Checkered Blanket: This blanket is actually one that he will put to good use! It’s cool enough to leave on his bed, and comfy enough to where he will end up sleeping with it almost every single night.

Woven Basket: A great size to fit all of his V-Day basket items – and perfect for repurposing to give him some extra storage in his closet.

Cologne Sample Set: A sample set is such a great way for him to try different cologne scents and see what he likes. It’s also better to start him off with something like this before getting into the more expensive ones. 😉

Brownie Brittle: This one is pretty self explanatory. But if this is also one of your favorite treats, you might want to get another bag for yourself, because he’ll probably have a hard time sharing this one.

This post was all about the best Valentines gift basket ideas that everyone will love.
